Climbing & Caneoing Weekend
People in the Hope Valley, Derbyshire, are being encouraged to get active and explore their adventurous sides for an exciting weekend of outdoor activities on 12th and 13th July 2008.
After the success of the ‘Spring into Action day’, in March, Active Grindleford has teamed up again with Whitehall Outdoor Pursuits Centre to offer Climbing and Canoeing days for local people.
Commenting on the weekend, Paul Whitworth said: "Spring into action was such a success it was really important to keep the momentum going by offering more activities. Climbing and Canoeing were the most popular activities on the day so I’m sure there will be no shortage of interest. It should be a great weekend.”
12th July – Rock Climbing Day
A day at a local crag, where adults and young people can all come along and try out climbing. A family friendly session, as well as time for those who would like to start learning more skills and how to go climbing independently. For these people there will be a chance to do some more advanced sessions.
13th July – Canoeing Day
A day at a local reservoir. Come and try out both canoeing and kayaking either by yourself, with friends, or bring the family. No age restrictions, as long as the buoyancy aids can fit, we can get them on the water! A full day of fun on and in the water! Bring a picnic lunch and hopefully we will get to enjoy it in the sunshine!
Costs for each day are as follows:
- £10 per day (Active Grindleford Members)
- £15 per day (non-members)
Cheques made payable to GPFA
